Where Vendor AI Stops
The real boundary isn't what an AI agent can do. It's what your company knows that the next agent doesn't.
Every vendor demo ends the same way: an agent that books the meeting, resolves the ticket, reroutes the shipment. And the demo works. What the demo cannot show is the part that decides whether it will work for you — the operating knowledge that lives inside your company and nowhere else.
The boundary of vendor AI is not model capability. It is context. Your carriers' real behavior under pressure, the exception your best dispatcher handles by instinct, the constraint that exists because of a decision made in 2016 that nobody wrote down. That knowledge is the moat, and it does not ship with the model.
The operators who get value from AI will be the ones who treat their operating knowledge as an asset to be captured, structured and fed to these systems — not the ones waiting for the next model release to close the gap.
